Since our last message, the Province of Ontario has completed their updating of available resources regarding the most recent lockdown and state of emergency of which we are happy to share with you.
The Province has clarified its position and has stated that “wedding ceremony rites are permitted to be performed with groups up to 10 people (both indoors and outdoors) where physical distancing can be maintained and in compliance with rules on face coverings” (source: https://files.ontario.ca/moh-enhanced-provincewide-shutdown-en-2021-01-15.pdf). Restrictions on other types of social gatherings and event facility closures, as stated in our previous message, remain in effect.
The OGWIA will continue to work with local and provincial health officials to share the most recent information, as it is released, with our members. We continue to encourage our members to check with their local bylaw offices to confirm how the current state of emergency and stay-at-home order affects their businesses and clients.
